So you want a relationship…
December 12, 2011 No CommentsSo you want a relationship?
But your principles prevent you from approaching the guy you really want…
Hmmm….
There’s nothing wrong with expecting men to take the initiative… in certain respects.
Setting plans, picking you up, holding the door, picking up the tab; classic gentlemen behavior.
But there’s nothing romantic or smart about being passive when it comes to making the first move. By that I mean, a woman will see a guy she’s interested in, and attracted to, but wait for him to approach or initiate conversation at the cost of potentially never talking at all. Why?
If you operate under the standard that he should always approach you first… you may be waiting for a while.
If you really see something you like, there’s no harm in helping your chances by making your own introduction. Believe it or not, men can be pretty clueless. Yeah really. So no matter how well you present yourself, even if your effort is subliminally directed at him, he might not pick up on it without your help.
“Hi, I’m INSERT YOUR NAME HERE,” is all it takes.
Being approached by a woman is a tremendous moment for a guy. That’s because, like you, he got dressed up, crammed into a loud room, and paid way too much for a weak drink just for the chance to meet someone interesting.
Take the initiative. You have nothing to lose.
